Scar Tissue Adhesion Restriction Release Therapy (S.T.A.R.R.)

« Back

Also known as IASTM (Instrument-Assisted Soft-Tissue Mobilization). Instrument based soft tissue mobilization is a specific technique that utilizes metallic instruments that help the practitioner identify and break down scar tissue and fibrotic adhesions (connective tissue junk).

Utilizing the instruments in this therapy, make the treatment more effective and quicker responding compared to using manually based soft tissue techniques.
The goal is to actually stimulate the affected tissue and trigger an inflammatory healing response. This will stimulate the production of new collagen and proper healing (more functional, less painful) within the affected tissue. This technique is very simiilar to the Graston Technique.
